For the TI-84 Plus CE
Type or paste notes here, check them on the screen preview, and send them over USB. Read them later with the free Calcd app. No TI Connect needed.
Calcd is a small, read-only notes viewer for the calculator. It lists every note you've sent and opens them full screen. It needs the free CE C libraries, which come with it.
Copy your programs, notes and settings off one calculator and onto another. TI locks each calculator's ROM to that unit, so this copies your files, not the calculator itself.

New calculator
Unplug the old calculator, plug in the new one, and keep it on the home screen.
No backup loaded yet.
Not copied: the jailbreak and the Cesium app. On the new calculator, check its OS version, run the matching arTIfiCE (see Setup below), and reinstall Cesium if you use it. Files with the same name on the new calculator are replaced.
TI blocks apps like Calcd on newer calculator software. A free tool called arTIfiCE lets them run again.
Press 2nd mem then 1 (About). Note the number on the first line.
| OS version | Use |
|---|---|
| 5.4 or older | Nothing needed, run Calcd from prgm |
| 5.5 – 5.8.4 | arTIfiCE v2.1 |
| 5.8.5 | arTIfiCE v3 (needs the Inequalz app) |
Download it from the official arTIfiCE page and follow its steps. Don't update your calculator OS: updates can't be undone.
Plug the calculator in, close TI Connect CE, and press Send Calcd + libraries above. Keep the calculator on the home screen while it sends.
Calcd needs about 13 KB of free RAM. If you get "memory insufficient", archive big items under 2nd mem → 2. Then open Calcd from arTIfiCE (or Cesium).
